The course material is also appropriate if you are a lower secondary school (Year 9 and 10) teacher. This distance learning programme enables you to apply your new skills straight to the classroom without putting your teaching career on hold.

This offer will waive the course costs for applicants accepted in to Open Polytechnic’s Graduate Certificate in Primary Mathematics Teaching (Curriculum) under Open Polytechnic’s standard Terms and Conditions of Enrolment [the offer does not include the Annual Administration Fee of $60, cost of purchase of set texts or other costs].

Criteria

  • Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or New Zealand Permanent Residents and fulfil the entry requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Primary Mathematics Teaching (Curriculum), course/programme requirements and comply with Open Polytechnic’s general academic regulations where applicable.
  • Students must commence study in Trimester 1, 2 or 3, 2016 or Trimester 1, 2 or 3, 2017.
  • All enrolment applications must be supported by the School Principal.
  • This offer only applies to valid enrolments received and accepted by the Open Polytechnic to commence in Trimesters 1, 2 or 3, 2016 or Trimester 1, 2 or 3, 2017.

Terms and Conditions

  • This offer will waive the course costs for the Graduate Certificate in Primary Mathematics Teaching (Curriculum), for students whose application for enrolment has been accepted by the Open Polytechnic to start in Trimesters 1, 2, or 3, 2016 or Trimester 1, 2 or 3, 2017.
  • Students will be charged an annual Administration Fee of $60.
  • Other costs, such as textbook costs, are the responsibility of the student.
  • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • The offer does not cover repeat enrolments in courses where the student has failed or withdrawn from a course. Any repeat enrolments in the same course will be subject to fees.
  • All enrolments are subject to the Open Polytechnic’s standard Terms and Conditions of Enrolment.
  • Re-enrolment per trimester will be dependent on student achievement.
  • The Graduate Certificate in Primary Mathematics Teaching (Curriculum) must be completed within 6 consecutive Trimesters, from the start date.
  • All decisions are final and correspondence will not be entered into.
  • Open Polytechnic reserve the right to withdraw this offer at any time by publishing the ‘effective end date’ on the Open Polytechnic website two weeks prior to the end of the offer.
