Our Māori learners

Feedback from our Māori learners tell us they place a high value on their qualification helping them achieve their career goals. We have over 5,000 Māori learners each year, which makes up 18% of our student population. 

Māori learner satisfaction

Of Māori learners who responded to our annual student satisfaction survey:

  • 96% felt their study was valuable for their current job
  • 93% believed their employer would consider their qualification valuable
  • 87% said their study was valuable for a future job.

 

Who are our Māori learners?

  • 63% are female
  • 37% male
  • 28% are aged between 30 and 39
  • 21% are aged between 25 and 29


Popular areas of study for our Māori learners include degrees and diplomas in business as well as certificate level study in fitness, real estate, employment skills, drainlaying, foundation and tertiary study skills.

I place a high expectation on myself, but you have to find a balance between work and other commitments. I have made it work for me. There is no point in procrastinating. Just do it.
