The purpose of this online dispensing medicines course is to prepare you to be able to dispense medicines and reconstitute antibiotics under supervision

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to

  • Describe processes for dispensing in the pharmacy and identify their role as a pharmacy technician in each process
  • Prepare and accurately dispense a full range of prescriptions and pharmaceutical orders under direct supervision of a pharmacist, and within legislation and standards appropriate to dispensing
  • Reconstitute antibiotic medicines under direct supervision of a pharmacist
  • Identify and respond to interventions, medicine interactions and near misses/errors
