Teaching and learning

All Architectural courses are delivered in iQualify, our online learning platform. Once your course is available, you can log in to iQualify anytime/any place to read the course content, complete the activities, view multimedia content, post course-related questions, communicate with other learners, librarians, and the course tutor.

Each course will have between five to eight modules. You can think of modules as chapters in a book.

Modules are divided further into fact sheets. Fact sheets cover all the knowledge and skills you are expected to master in each module. Each fact sheet provides a progress check on whether you are work-ready: can you apply the information in the fact sheet to the sort of situation you will face out in the workplace?

Each module ends with a job sheet. The fact sheets are step-by-step guides to answer a key question related to the job sheet for the module.

Because the course is fully online, you will get automatic feedback after you post your response to the questions in the activities.

Managing your time

Architectural Technology courses are usually worth 15 credits. This means that we expect you to spend around 150 hours to fully understand the content. Usually, you have a higher workload around assignment due dates and lighter workload in other times. Each block is over a period of 20 weeks. Learning content is structured around a 16 week teaching period. You may use the recommended study guide to manage your study time along with your other commitments.

Assessments

Each course has three compulsory assessments which must be submitted. Once accessing the courses your assessment due dates will be available through iQualify and MYOP. You will be able to access the assessment tasks in iQualify from the beginning of the block and can finish each assessment and submit it any time before the due date.
