Students who successfully complete this online course will be able to:

  • Solve, manipulate and apply mathematical functions, including application of graphs where appropriate.
  • Apply the rules and principles of trigonometry using both degree and radian measure.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of differentiation and integration techniques and apply them to problems in an engineering context.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of complex numbers
  • Use spreadsheets to analyse data in an engineering context to perform calculations and present data in an appropriate format.

Self Assessment

After you successfully finish this self assessment  you can enrol into MG5004 Engineering Maths Level 5. If you have found the self assesment too difficult you may want to enrol into the following micro-credential:

 MC5326 Foundation Mathematics for Engineering (Micro-credential)

When you enrol in the  New Zealand Diploma in Engineering  you’ll need to take DE4102 Engineering Mathematics 1.
