Some courses in this programme have an exam, which are in-person.
Please check the course page to see if there is an exam, and the exam timetable before you enrol to ensure you can attend the exam. Exam dates and times are fixed and cannot be rescheduled, this includes if the exam is scheduled on a Regional Anniversary Day.
Mathematical skills are foundational to study in engineering, so early in your studies you’ll need to take DE4102 Engineering Mathematics 1. To help you succeed in this course, we recommend you check to your mathematics skills by doing a self-assessment. Go to the course page to find the assessment:
To achieve the New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Level 6), you need to complete 16 courses.
Start with DE4101 Engineering Fundamentals, which is the foundation of this programme introduces the other areas of study that you will study.
If you meet the required pre-requisites you can plan your own study path or contact your course leader for guidance. Pre-requisites are shown on the course pages.
Please note this programme is available for part-time study only. You can enrol in a maximum of two courses per trimester.
