Qualification update
Closed to enrolments from new learners
We are no longer taking enrolments from new learners for OP7400 Bachelor of Social Work.
The Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) has introduced new Education Standards that provide greater flexibility in the length of social work degrees while maintaining the required graduate outcomes and professional practice standards.
In response to these changes, Open Polytechnic is planning a new Bachelor of Social Work degree that will meet the new SWRB Education Standards.
The proposed degree remains subject to internal and external approval, accreditation, and regulatory processes. Until these have been completed, we are unable to confirm a start date or when enrolments for the new degree will open.
Please check back on our website in 2027 for information on the new proposed degree or fill out our registration of interest form and we will contact you.

Please note, Open Polytechnic has a teach out plan in place, and learners who are studying OP7400 Bachelor of Social Work must complete their last course in the degree no more than 8 years from their first enrolment.
