Ākonga will be able to identify and apply workplace risk management tools and strategies. Risk management tools and strategies are linked to the organisation’s workplace policies and procedures. This course explores ethical practice within the health and wellbeing setting, specifically focussed on the whānau, community and social services sector.
At the successful completion of this course, ākonga will be able to:
- describe the process of community integration for tāngata and/or whānau they support and reflect on their role within this process
- describe local services and resources relevant to tāngata and/or whānau they support in a whānau, community or social services setting
- describe risks for tāngata and/or whānau they support, workers, and others in a whānau, community and social services setting
- describe and implement tools and strategies that contribute to the safety of tāngata and/or whānau they support in a whānau, community and social services setting
- describe policies, procedures and resources used to assist in responding to risk-related issues in a whānau, community and social services setting
- reflect on own ethical practice as a whānau, community and social services worker
