This online floristry course completes knowledge and skills gained from previous courses FLO311, FLO312 and FLO313 with theory and a final capstone assessment. Intermediate theory and practical skills are applied to successfully complete five practical floral arrangements within a commercially acceptable timeframe showcasing floristry techniques within New Zealand.

Students will be required to complete a minimum of 40 hours in an approved floristry retail workplace during the course to demonstrate achievement of the workplace-based learning outcomes.
When you successfully complete this course, you will be able to:
- Deliver a positive front of shop customer experience in a floristry retail workplace and refer to complaints.
- Describe the key features and characteristics of a range of floristry products and services.
- Place, arrange, maintain and cost floral arrangements and merchandise on display in a floristry retail workplace.
- Apply knowledge of legislation relevant to a floristry retail business.
- Plan, prepare, cost and construct five specific floral arrangements within a commercially acceptable timeframe to meet customer specifications and business requirements.
Assessment
- This course is 100% internally assessed.
- Assessment Three is a remote invigilated assessment where you must have access to a laptop or mobile device.

Industry tools; flower snips, secateurs, paper or fabric scissors, wire cutters, hand towel, rubbish bin

Corsage:
- 20,22,26 and 28 gauge wire
- Professional flower stem wrap
- Corsage pin
- Ribbon (approx. 3-6 mm wide)
All round Hand-tied bouquet in a water-filled container and hand-tied posy:
- Tie or twine (to tie hand-tieds)
- Papers (to wrap the hand-tied bouquet and waterfilled container)
- Cellophane
- Waterfilled container
- Ribbon to make a bow (approximately 32mm wide)
All round and front facing bowl:
- Industry bowls (No 6 suggested)
- floral foam, or Agrawool, or OshunPouch or chicken wire
- Industry floral wire, or pot tape, or rubber bands
Fresh Materials
- Flowers and foliage for all five practical items
