In this online course ākonga synthesise their knowledge and understandings of the New Zealand Curriculum and develop an holistic idea of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment and their impact on learning.
Ākonga will investigate complementary research-based approaches, pedagogies and assessment, which deepen their understanding of the educative process. Drawing on their own subject specialisation, ākonga critically analyse various research-based approaches to curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and reporting to improve the learning and teaching cycle
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Apply a range of assessment for learning principles, theories and processes in specialist subject areas.
- Devise learning to support a local curriculum for specialist subject areas
- Critique research-based pedagogies that support effective learning and teaching.
- Integrate literacy, numeracy and information technology into a project-based/cross-curricular unit of work.
