You are supported to apply knowledge of pedagogical approaches and teaching strategies to extend working theories and facilitate learning across all domains of the curriculum.
This course has a specific focus on visual arts, music, drama and movement, literacy and language, technology, mathematics, science, and physically active play. You will develop your understanding of the importance of kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and environmental education for sustainability.
Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Examine ways domain content knowledge can be embedded in a range of curriculum areas to support learning and development.
- Develop assessment, planning and documentation for infants’, toddlers’, and young children’s learning that include learning dispositions, working theories and relevant domain content knowledge.
- Discuss the importance of incorporating kaitiakitanga and Environmental Education for Sustainability in everyday localised curriculum.
