During the practicum you will use reflection techniques and practice supervision to articulate and critically reflect on your use of practice theory, evidence, and knowledge for practice. You will organise and manage practice accountably working within relevant organisational protocols and propose ways for the agency to improve service delivery.

The practicum block is preceded by a compulsory practice skills workshop.

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to

  • Organise and facilitate a person-centred review; include all relevant stakeholders, whānau, and other key people.
  • Work in partnership with a service user and other professionals to develop an action plan, including identifying and understanding barriers and resources required.
  • Evaluate their own performance and identify whether their contributions have made a difference.

This course requires you to attend a workshop or noho marae in the Wellington region.
