  • How we'll support your studies

    Studying by distance learning doesn't mean you'll be on your own. We’ll be with you every step of the way to support, mentor and assist you with your studies and study planning.

  • Study support from the Library and Learning Centre

    The Library and Learning Centre -Te Whare Pukapuka Wāhanga Whakapakari Ako - offers a range of learning support services and resources to help you achieve your study goals. 

  • Using the library

    The Open Polytechnic Library is free, convenient and easy to use. The library provides online resources, guides on how to look for information, a distance lending service with free and fast delivery, and information about study techniques. 

  • Māori student support

    At Open Polytechnic, our students are the most important thing. We have a range of study support services to help our Māori students succeed and ensure you are not alone in your study journey

  • Pasifika student support

    Our Pasifka learners tell us they place a high value on their qualification helping them achieve their career goals.

  • Student forms

    Here you will find all the service forms that you may need during your study. You can either apply online, or download a form and post it to us. 

  • Support for students with disabilities

    Distance learning offers flexibility that can be ideal if you have a disability, health condition, mental illness, or specific learning needs. 

  • Get your student ID card

    Get your free student ID card so you can receive student discounts at specified businesses nationwide. We’ve teamed up with StudentCard, New Zealand’s favourite discount card for tertiary students.

  • Student rights and conduct

    Learn about your rights as a student, and the statutes and regulations that govern all Open Polytechnic students.

  • Complaints and concerns

    We aim to address all complaints and concerns in accordance with the principles of natural justice. We work hard to make sure you feel safe and supported in raising a complaint or concern.
