Role at Open Polytechnic
I’m a student mentor (Kaihāpai Māori). I’m part of the student mentor team. My role is to provide advice or guidance about study skills, motivation, time-management, assessment extensions or Special Consideration.
Study background
I’ve a broad background in distance learning and extramural studies. I completed my Bachelors of Arts degree through extramural study at Massey University.
Experience
As an extramural adult student at Massey, I mentored fellow Māori students as part of the Whakapakari Akonga Programme in Wellington. I’ve also experience in adult teaching (CELTA) and home tutoring (ESOL) in community education.
