Guidelines for Presenters

We’re very much looking forward to seeing you all. There will be around 130 people presenting and over 180 have registered for the event so far.

We will have sessions covering a wide range of discipline areas including but not limited to: Education, Health and Wellbeing, Business and Accounting, Māori, Pasifika, and Diversity Studies among many others.

Important Guidelines for Presenters

Here are a few practical things to you get ready for the event on Thu 25th and Fri 26th of November 2021.

Format

Most will know that this is now a fully online event. We will be using Zoom to deliver the presentations over the two days.

We suggest you create a free Zoom account if you don’t already have an account and download the desktop or mobile app (it’s free). You can also participate using the web browser although this provides a more limited experience.

All main authors who have submitted the abstract on the CMT system are the key contact for each submission and will receive a link to give them exclusive presenter access on the day.

Please ensure that when joining Zoom on the day, to use your full name (first name followed by surname) to enter. Please avoid using pseudonyms.

We advise signing into your zoom account and making sure your web camera and microphone work properly well in advance of the symposium.

Programme

The conference will run from 9.00 am-4.05 pm on Thursday 25th of November and 9.00-3.05 pm on Friday 26th of November.

The full programme is  available to download here:

Powerpoint slides

Please ensure that you have prepared Powerpoint slides for your presentations and that your first slide (cover slide) includes your presentation title, affiliation, authors and co-authors details.

To avoid technical issues, we generally advise against using videos or links to videos in your slides. But if you must use a video, please ensure the video is “embedded” into the slides.

See this YouTube video for more details on how to embed.

Presentation pre-recordings

Your presentations must be pre-recorded videos (MP4 files) and sent to us in advance. See more details below as to how to get your pre-recordings to us

Length of pre-recordings

We have very tight schedules for the two days so it is important that you strictly stick to the allocated time:

  • Research/Creative presentations: 15 minutes max
  • Information Presentations: 10 minutes Max
  • Poster Presentations: 10 minutes Max (Poster presentations need to be one slide only)

Your pre-recordings must not go over the time allocations provided above.

Getting your Powerpoint slides and pre-recordings to us

Please use the last name of the main author to name both your Powerpoint and Pre-recorded MP4 file.

Over the next week, we will email out a link to a cloud dropbox. Please upload your Powerpoint Slides and Pre-recordings to the link we will provide.

Deadline to get pre-recordings and Powerpoints to us is the end of the day Sunday 21st of November.
