Entry requirements
To enrol in this programme you need to have:
- a Bachelor degree in a relevant field, or
- significant professional experience in the library, archives, records and information management sectors to the satisfaction of the Programme Leader.
If you have alreadyy completed two or more of the following courses, you are unable to enrol in this programme:
- 72370 Information Issues
- 72371 Policy and Planning for Information Services
- LIS701 Critical Perspectives for Library and Information Professionals
- LIS702 Strategy and Planning in Information Organisations
- LIS703 Leadership and Advocacy for Information Professionals
English language requirements
International students must also have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
Domestic students for whom English or Māori is not their first language must also have an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or equivalent.

You can study this programme part-time if you're an international student living in New Zealand, you will need to be in paid employment with a valid work permit. You cannot study this programme if you’re an international student living overseas.
