Entry requirements

To enter this programme you need to meet the language literacy requirements below, and have NCEA Level 2 with:

  • 8 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above and
  • 14 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above

Or you need:

  • An equivalent of the above , OR
  • Successful completion of an approved qualification at Level 3 or above with a relevant pathway.

If you do not meet these requirements but feel you have the level of preparedness to study this programme, you can apply but will need to provide relevant evidence to support your application or may be asked to complete a proficiency test.

English language and literacy requirements

If you do not have the required NCEA literacy requirements or equivalent you may be required to demonstrate capability using an approved proficiency test or an equivalent.

If you are an international applicant you must provide evidence that you have the necessary English language proficiency as demonstrated by:

  • An IELTS score of 5.5 (Academic) with no individual band lower than 5.0 from one test taken in the last two years; OR
  • An equivalent as described in our English language requirements.

International students and domestic students living overseas

You can study this programme part-time if you’re an international student living in New Zealand or overseas. If you’re living in New Zealand you will need to be in paid employment with a valid work permit.
