Academic entry requirements

To be admitted to this programme, you must hold one of the following: 

• A minimum of 50 NCEA credits at Level 2 and a minimum of 12 credits in NCEA mathematics (or Pangarau) Level 1 and 12 literacy credits at NCEA Level 1;
• OR a relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above; 
• OR a recognised equivalent.

20 years of over

If you're 20 years or older and have not reached the general admission requirements you will be eligible for Special Admission. 

Language Literacy requirements 

All applicants (international and domestic) for whom English or te reo Māori is not a first language need to provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the programme.  

International applicants are required to have an IELTS score of 6 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules. 

International students and domestic students living overseas

Domestic students living overseas 

You can study this programme if you’re a New Zealand citizen living overseas. 

You are required to be in New Zealand while completing CONS5003 due to needing access to a New Zealand build.

Software requirements

Cad software 

For some courses in this qualification, you will need to learn and apply computer-aided design (CAD) software. You also need to have paper and drawing equipment for manual and computer-aided drawing (CAD) for all drawing courses.

Set texts 

You may need to buy some set texts. These are an additional cost and are not included in your course fees.
