Introduction to Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI Micro-credential)

Entry requirements

Open entry if we are satisfied that you have the capability to complete the requirements of the micro-credential. You must be at least 16 years of age on the date you commence the micro-credential.

English language requirements

All applicants (international and domestic) for whom English or te reo Māori is not a first language need to provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the micro-credential.  

International applicants must provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the micro-credential as demonstrated by an IELTS score of 5.0 (general or academic) with no individual band lower than 5.0 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules and on our website.  

International learners and domestic learners living overseas 

You can study this programme part-time if you’re an international student living in New Zealand or overseas. If you’re living in New Zealand you will  need to be in paid employment with a valid work permit.   
You can also study this programme if you’re a New Zealand citizen living overseas.

This micro-credential was developed in conjunction with Spark and includes reference to ethics and Māori data sovereignty alongside practical guidelines for getting the most out of generative AI.
