Qualification structure
This qualification consists of eight compulsory courses totalling 150 credits. The programme has six 15-credit courses and two 30-credit courses. You need to complete all courses in the list below to graduate with this qualification. The programme works in blocks of 16 teaching weeks. This programme begins with two part-time courses (EDU632 and EDU738) and upon successfully completion students will be able to enrol full time for the reminder of the programme.
A full-time workload for a block is three courses (60 credits). Part-time is a minimum of one course (15 credits).
New learners should select one, or both of these courses to start:
- EDU632 Communication Technology for Teachers
- EDU738 Technology Processes for Teachers
Completing these courses first ensures ākonga are able to apply their existing skills and knowledge to the principles and practices of technology as it is conceptualised and taught in New Zealand.
Extra requirements for first-time applicants
Please note you will need to apply at least 5 weeks before your intended course start date. If you have a qualification that has been awarded in any country other than New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom, or the United States, you will need to have an International Qualification Assessment completed by NZQA (see here for more information about this). We also require all identity documents and qualification documents to be verified copies. For information on how to get copies verified please see here.

Qualification Structure
This is a new programme currently under development. The following courses will become available as you progress through the programme:
- EDU633 Teacher Identity in Aotearoa
- EDU736 Secondary Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment 2
- EDU737 Final Practicum and Culminating Integrative Assessment
