The New Zealand Certificate in Sterilising Technology (Level 3) is delivered fully online and will teach you sterilisation procedures in an office-based health service organisation, such as beauty therapy clinics, general medical practices, or tattoo parlours.
With this qualification you will gain skills in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices from decontamination through to sterilising and storage.
What you will learn
When you complete this qualification you will be able to:
- Apply knowledge of diseases, blood born viruses, and infection prevention and control risks to the reprocessing of reusable medical devices
- Apply knowledge of New Zealand reusable medical device reprocessing standards to maintain a safe working environment and control the spread of contamination.
Career opportunities
When you complete this certificate you will have the knowledge to support reusable medical device reprocessing in the office-based environment where sterilisers are used, and enter sterile services departments.
