The New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (General) Level 3  is a programme that can help you grow food for the family, design a garden you will be proud of  or set you on a pathway to careers in the horticulture sectors. This is the qualification perfectly designed whether you simply enjoy gardening, are already working in the industry or seeking a horticulture role, this certificate is sure to grow your knowledge and skills.

This qualification will prepare you for a career across all sectors of the horticulture industry such as plant nurseries, orchards, garden centres, or parks and reserves.

Once you have successfully completed this programme, you can apply to receive the New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (General) (Level 3). You’ll also be able to move into further education and training in horticulture and put the skills you’ve learnt into practice.

Access to a garden

You need access to a garden or a horticultural or agricultural area; or you cannot enrol in this programme. 

 

Other requirements

This programme is delivered 100% online. To complete this programme you will need access to a computer or device, broadband internet and a data plan able to support online learning such as streaming of videos (including YouTube), downloading content and submitting online assessments. If you are unsure if your current computer/device or internet access allows you to complete your online learning with us, please contact us before applying to enrol. 

Key dates

Our open courses are open for enrolment every month. Each open course starts on the first Monday of the month you choose for enrolment. You must complete your study within the given start and end dates.
