Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission to this programme you must meet the General and  Language Literacy admission requirements (see below).

You also need to have NCEA Level 2 including:

  • 8 Literacy credits at Level 2 or above and
  • 14 Numeracy credits at Level 1 or above

Or you need:

  • An equivalent of the above , OR
  • Successful completion of an approved qualification at Level 3 or above with a relevant pathway.

If you do not meet these requirements stated but believe you have the level of preparedness for study at this level, you may apply but will need to provide relevant evidence to support your application for admission and/or may be asked to complete a proficiency test.

Language Literacy requirements

If you are unable to provide evidence of the NCEA literacy credits or equivalent you may be required to demonstrate capability using an approved proficiency test or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules.

International applicants must provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the programme as demonstrated by an IELTS score of 5.5 (Academic) with no individual band lower than 5.0 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules and on our website.

Maximum programme completion time

To be awarded the qualification you must must complete it in no more than six years of your first enrolment, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

International students and domestic students living overseas

You can study this programme part-time if you’re an international student living in New Zealand or overseas. If you’re living in New Zealand you will need to be in paid employment with a valid work permit.

You can also study this programme if you’re a New Zealand citizen living overseas.

Computer and internet requirements

All courses in this programme are online. This means, you will access the course content and submit assignments online. For online learning and assignments, you need to have regular access to a computer or device, and reliable internet access.
