The purpose of this micro-credential is to provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills in assessing learners/ candidates using standards-based assessments.

This micro-credential is for you if you work with assessments in a range of contexts including tertiary providers, industry training organisations, private training providers, the corporate and government sector, community organisations, Health and Corrections settings.

You will develop and apply knowledge and skills in preparing candidates for assessment, assessing candidates completing assessment administration and reflecting on your practice. This micro-credential provides guidelines on learner centred approaches to assessment practice in a range of tertiary and workplace contexts.

What you will learn

This course provides you with knowledge and skill development in the fundamentals of assessment practice for working as an assessor in a variety of assessment contexts. You will develop learner-centred approaches to assessment practice including preparing for assessment, making quality assessment decisions and providing effective and appropriate feedback.  You will also develop skills in reflective practice and gain an understanding of assessment processes including post-assessment processes.

When you complete this micro-credential, you will be able to:

  • Prepare assessment materials and the assessment environment, and inform relevant stakeholders of assessment arrangements.
  • Conduct assessments and demonstrate evidence-based assessment judgement including feedback to learners.
  • Complete post-assessment administration processes to suit the learning context.
  • Evaluate own assessment practice using reflection and feedback.
