Open Polytechnic kaimahi (staff) showcased its Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programmes at an industry event recently.

Karen Kane, Programme Delivery Manager, along with Education kaimahi Mary-Liz Broadley, Lynne Brice and Melissa McMinn attended the International Confederation of Principals’ Convention 2026 in Auckland in September, which was attended by school principals and guests from overseas and throughout New Zealand.

The conference was an excellent opportunity for kaimahi to network with New Zealand principals, to talk with them about Open Polytechnic’s Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary Education), Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary Education), Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary Technology Education) and the Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) Education).

“Many of the principals spoke highly of our programmes, with a preference for partnering with Open Polytechnic due to the in-school nature of our programmes which they believe to be successful,” Karen says.
