New Zealand Diploma in Architectural Technology (Level 6) [Version 2]

To be admitted to this programme, applicants must hold one of the following: 

  • A minimum of 50 NCEA credits at Level 2 and a minimum of 12 credits in NCEA mathematics (or Pangarau) Level 1 and 12 literacy credits at NCEA Level 1; 

OR 

  • A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 4 or above; 

OR 

  • A recognised equivalent. 

 Any ākonga who is 20 years of age or older and has not reached the general admission requirements for their intended programme is eligible for Special Admission.

Language Literacy requirements 

All applicants (international and domestic) for whom English or te reo Māori is not a first language need to provide evidence that they have the necessary English language proficiency required for the programme.  

International applicants are required to have an IELTS score of 6 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5.5 from one test taken in the preceding two years, or an equivalent described in NZQA Rules. 

Maximum programme completion time 

To be awarded the qualification you must  complete it in no more than six years of your first enrolment, unless there are exceptional circumstances. 

International students and domestic students living overseas

This programme is not available to international students. 

 Domestic students living overseas 

You can study this programme if you’re a New Zealand citizen living overseas. 

You are required to be in New Zealand while  completing CONS5003 and CONS6708 due to needing access to a New Zealand build.

Cad software 

For some courses in this qualification, you will need to learn and apply computer-aided design (CAD) software. You also need to have paper and drawing equipment for manual and computer-aided drawing (CAD) for all drawing courses.

This programme is delivered online. To complete this programme you will need access to a laptop or desktop computer, reliable broadband internet connection and a data plan able to support online learning such as streaming of videos (including YouTube), downloading content, and writing and submitting online assessments.
