Primary Science Teaching

Open Polytechnic have developed three new Graduate Primary Science Teaching qualifications. They have been specifically developed for in-service primary school teachers teaching in New Zealand primary school.

Teachers who undertake a Graduate Primary Science Teaching qualification will benefit from:

  • Increased confidence in their science knowledge and understanding
  • Improved capability to respond to science teaching challenges, including bicultural and multicultural contexts, and the changing technological landscape.
  • Improved leadership capability to sustain improvements in science teaching and the contribution of science to society.

Although all three qualifications can be enrolled in separately, they have been designed so that teachers can begin their study with a Graduate Certificate before applying to credit their study to the Graduate Diploma.
