This certificate will provide you with an understanding of New Zealand’s local government and resource management law, and will enable you to apply this knowledge to a variety of practical scenarios. You will have the option of studying other statutes that apply to resource use, conservation, the principles of environmental monitoring, impact assessment and marine management. You may use this certificate as a stepping stone to Open Polytechnic’s Diploma in Environmental Management.
Approximately 10-12 hours study per week for each 20 credit course. This may be higher at assessment or exam time.
