The Certificate in Quality Assurance, offered in conjunction with the New Zealand Organisation for Quality (NZOQ), will give you the skills to manage and improve processes within organisations. Quality assurance principles are essential for the smooth day-to-day operation of businesses, particularly service and manufacturing firms, whose success depends on customer loyalty and satisfaction. One of the benefits of studying this programme by distance is that you can apply your new quality assurance skills straight to your job.
OP5280 Certificate in Quality Assurance (Level 5) is closed to new students. We are unable to enrol any students not already studying with Open Polytechnic in this programme.

If you were already enrolled in OP5280 Certificate in Quality Assurance (Level 5) prior to 24 November 2017, you can continue to enrol in your next course/s as normal to complete your qualification.
Please note, you will need to have completed all courses that make up the programme by 31 December 2019.
We recommend you enrol in your last course/s by 1 May 2019 at the latest to ensure you have enough time to successfully complete all of the coursework. If you need help with a study plan to complete the certificate in this timeframe, please email us.
For each credit, allow about 10 hours of study. This may be higher near assessment due dates.

When you achieve this qualification you will know how to:

This qualification will prepare you for a career in specialist quality roles, supervisory and management positions or areas like auditing, evaluation and implementation of organisational systems and quality improvement.
You may be able to study the Graduate Diploma in Quality Systems (Level 7) from
Massey University once you have achieved this qualification.
Our open courses are open for enrolment every month. Each open course starts on the first Monday of the month you choose for enrolment. You must complete your study within the given start and end dates.
All six courses are internally assessed. Summative assessment usually takes the form of open book assignments. Course QM503 Variation includes a case study. Although the assessment relies on written tasks, the questions have a practical focus and demonstrate application of principles in the workplace. Assessments have due dates and need to be submitted online via the Online Campus.
