Advance your career in the financial services industry with the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services. This nationally recognised qualification will give you a broad understanding of the financial services industry to assist you in current or future roles within banking or insurance.
For each credit, allow about 10 hours of study. This may be higher near assessment due dates.

This qualification is made up of two strands within banking and insurance. To achieve the qualification you need to study three courses about the financial services industry and either the banking or insurance course. You can choose to study both courses if you would like to achieve both of the insurance and banking strands.

If you’re an NZFFBS member and have achieved a Certificate of Competency in Budget Advising, you can study towards the Personal/Family Budgeting strand of this nationally recognised certificate with Open Polytechnic.
All you need to do is study three compulsory courses which are listed under the Enrol in courses tab below. Once you’ve completed the courses, you can then apply to have your Certificate of Competency in Budget Advising cross-credited towards FSC415 New Zealand Family Budgeting Advice, which means you won’t need to study the course. There is an $85.00 administration fee for the credit transfer.

The Personal/Family Budgeting strand is not currently available to non NZFFBS members or NZFFBS members who do not have a Certificate of Competency in Budget Advising.

Our open courses are open for enrolment every month. Each open course starts on the first Monday of the month you choose for enrolment. You must complete your study within the given start and end dates.
All courses are internally assessed with no examination.
