If you’re working in a New Zealand community pharmacy, and want to help customers with over the counter medicines and pharmacy products and services, this is the qualification for you.

You’ll gain the skills needed to provide non-dispensing support under the supervision of a pharmacist.

What you will learn

When you’ve completed this programme you will be able to:

  • identify and respond appropriately to customer needs
  • lead and support teams within a pharmacy
  • give advice on over the counter health related products and services to help people manage minor health complaints and improve their health
  • carry out all retail tasks within a pharmacy.

Assessments

All courses are internally assessed with no examination. You will be required to complete online scenarios, multiple choice questions and short answer questions. Some work place tasks will require verification from your pharmacist. 

 

Further study

After you have completed this programme, you can move on to our Level 4 Certificate in Pharmacy (Pharmacy Technician).
