If you’re working in a New Zealand community pharmacy and would like to help customers with over the counter medicines and pharmacy products and services, this is the qualification for you. You’ll gain the skills needed to provide non-dispensing support under the supervision of a pharmacist.

What you will learn

This programme is delivered online.

Once you’ve completed this programme you will be able to:

  • identify and respond appropriately to customer needs
  • lead and support teams within a pharmacy
  • give advice on over the counter (OTC) health related products and services to manage minor health complaints and improve patient health
  • carry out all retail tasks within a pharmacy.

Assessment and exam

All courses are internally assessed with no examination. You will be required to complete online scenarios, multiple choice questions and short answer questions. Some work place tasks will require verification from your pharmacist.
