National Diploma in Construction Management (Level 6) (Closed to New Enrolments)

The National Diploma in Construction Management was developed by the Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) and provides the skills and knowledge necessary for the role of a construction manager.

Programme update

The National Diploma in Construction Management is now being replaced by OP2420 New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Level 6) with strands in Construction Management and Quantity Surveying.

What this change means for you as a current student

As a current student of the National Diploma in Construction Management you can continue to re-enrol in your next course(s) up until 30 May 2018 and complete all relevant course assessments by December 2018.

What you will learn

When you have completed this qualification, you will:

  • have background skills and knowledge relating to all types of construction, building services, materials and environment, building law and contract administration
  • have the ability to prepare quantities, price main contractors’ trades, and assemble subcontractors’ quotes
  • have site management and administration skills for site operations and planning construction projects
  • be able to develop health and safety and quality assurance plans
  • understand construction methodologies and planning for construction projects.

Key dates

Our open courses are open for enrolment every month. Each open course starts on the first Monday of the month you choose for enrolment. You must complete your study within the given start and end dates.

Enrolment period

You have a maximum of 32 weeks from the date your enrolment period starts to complete the courses you have chosen. All assessments need to be sent to us for marking before the end of week 27 to allow for marking and any rework needed.
