This qualification is for people who are working in adult education and workplace training as a tutor or trainer. It allows flexibility to accommodate different work, personal and skill requirements.
This qualification is now closed to any new enrolments and has been replaced by the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5).
Existing students enrolled in this programme can continue to enrol into the courses under this programme to complete your National Certificate requirements at level 4 until April 2018 fee free.
This qualification is now fee free from June 2016 to all currently enrolled students and those who have previously been enrolled. The admin fee will still apply. Any students who would like to complete individual unit standards in the area of adult education and training can enrol under OP7304 Certificate of Proficiency.
For each credit, allow about 10 hours of study. This may be higher near assessment due dates.

Opportunities include working in a wide range of vocational tutoring roles in private training providers, industry training organisations, polytechnics or workplaces where training of adults in specific skills and disciplines is taking place.
We also offer the New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5), the New Zealand Certificate in Assessment Practice (Level 4) and the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Vocational/Workplace) (Level 5).
All of these fit under a suite of qualifications suitable for anyone involved in teaching or facilitating adult learners.
Our open courses are open for enrolment every month. Each open course starts on the first Monday of the month you choose for enrolment. You must complete your study within the given start and end dates.
The learning materials contain activities that you can work your way through. There is one assessment task for each unit standard. This task includes written answers and also included verification in the form of a signed learner feedback sheets and observer/manager verification.
