Unlock your real estate career with the National Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) Level 4.

This qualification is delivered fully online and will enable you to apply for your real estate salesperson’s licence with the Real Estate Authority (REA) and work under the supervision of an agent or branch manager.

Current Students

If you were already enrolled in NC154303 National Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4) prior to 9 December 2018, you can continue to enrol in your next course as normal to complete your qualification.

Please note you must be enrolled in your last course by 6 May 2019 and successfully complete all courses in the programme by 31 December 2019 to complete this qualification.

NC154303 National Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4) is closed to new students and will be replaced with NZ3111 New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4), opening early 2019.

Study plan

We strongly suggest that you submit one assessment at least every three weeks as per the recommended study plan. This will allow you to finish the first course within 16 weeks.

What you will learn

When you achieve this qualification you will know about:

  • the real estate industry in New Zealand and how it works
  • land ownership, transfer of ownership, titles and
    council zoning
  • inspection, appraisal, and sale and purchase agreements
  • how to facilitate the sale of real estate, including auction and tender methods
  • property, contract and building law and the legal constraints of operating as a real estate salesperson
  • misleading and deceiving conduct and misrepresentation
  • the Real Estate Agents Act 2008, including licensing and the code of professional conduct.

Employment pathways

Holders of this qualification may apply to the Real Estate Agents Authority for a real estate salesperson’s licence under the provisions of the Real Estate Agents (Licensing) Regulations 2009.

They must do so if they wish to operate as a salesperson in the real estate industry.

Academic pathways

People with this qualification can apply for admission into NC1288 National Certificate in Real Estate (Branch Manager) (Level 5); or ND1731 National Diploma in Real Estate (Agent) (Level 5).

Our open courses are open for enrolment every month. Each open course starts on the first Monday of the month you choose for enrolment. You must complete your study within the given start and end dates.
