This course is an introduction to the historical influences of architecture and design in which you will study architects and their work. The course looks at recognising and understanding various styles and at how you can identify and co-ordinate your own style. There are 11 design activities throughout this module.

This course has two assessments in which you will determine an understanding of historical periods and various design styles. You will analyse several architects and their buildings, and profile several interior designers and their work.
The course runs for 12 weeks from your start date. The time you need to complete your studies will vary depending on your own knowledge and experience. As a guide it could take you approximately 10 hours a week to complete the course within the 12 week time frame.
