It will teach you about bovine anatomy and physiology, cattle breeds, husbandry, nutrition, health procedures, hygiene, cleaning, safe handling, and transporting.
You will be able to apply this underpinning knowledge to safely care for cattle on lifestyle blocks.
This course will enable you to facilitate the improvement of lifestyle block animal welfare practices in New Zealand

Learners who successfully complete this online course will be able to:
- Identify cattle breeds and their physical features; and describe normal behaviour.
- Identify basics of bovine anatomy and physiology, life stage development and husbandry; and describe the impact on care and well-being.
- Describe general nutritional needs, special dietary needs and substances toxic for cattle.
- Apply safe handling techniques to handle and transport cattle.
- Assist with regular and routine cattle care, in accordance with compliance requirements, to protect animals, humans and the environment.
