Sherry came to New Zealand over three years ago and decided to join the Student Advisory Group to add a different perspective as a new "kiwi".
When Sherry moved to New Zealand, she wanted to embark on an entirely new career as a Registered Financial Adviser and found that one important step to achieving her goal was to complete the National Certificate of Financial Services. Upon doing some research, Sherry found that the courses offered by Open Polytechnic were a perfect fit for her and allowed her to study according to her own schedule, at her own pace, anytime, anywhere.
With over four years of experience in the education industry from various different countries, distance learning is proving to be an entirely new learning experience for Sherry, and she is really enjoying the distinctive advantage of it.
As luck would have it, Sherry happened to see an opportunity of becoming a member of the Student Advisory Group and didn’t pass it up! She wanted to get involved as she believed it was a brilliant means of enabling students to interact and communicate with the organisations as well as other students. Sherry’s hope is that together as a group, she can help contribute to the Open Polytechnic student community.
