Recognising previous learning

Open Polytechnic has two ways to recognise your existing levels of self-learning, previous formal learning or work experience.  For some courses and programmes, you can apply for accelerated assessment, while for others, you can apply to have your learning cross credited.

Different rules apply to different programmes and courses, so please check the course information for the course you are interested in.

We recommend you apply for cross credits/credit transfers when you begin your study.

Note: Courses at level 7 are not normally awarded for cross credits.

Fees only apply if you are seeking cross credit(s) from qualifications gained at a tertiary institution outside New Zealand. This application fee must be included with your application and is not refundable.
