About the course
This course is designed to provide you with an understanding of conservation and natural resources law in New Zealand. The course examines key legislation affecting conservation and natural resource management including the Conservation Act, Reserves Act, National Parks Act, Crown Minerals Act, Fisheries Act and Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act. It also looks at the effects of international law on New Zealand's environmental management framework.

- Apply statute and case law to a range of conservation and natural resource management issues
- Critically discuss selected conservation and natural resources legislation and identify issues of current concern
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course. For students wishing to gain a comprehensive understanding of New Zealand's environmental legislation, 72292 Resource Management Act and Local Government Act is recommended as a co-requisite to this course.

Students will need Internet access for this course.
