Students will be able to- Demonstrate knowledge of data communications aspects, features, techniques, transmission media, coding standards, switching techniques, and an overview of different data communications systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of the features of a variety of computer network architectures, routing techniques, design aspects of both local area networks and wide area networks
- Demonstrate knowledge of transmission protocol models, layering techniques, and functions of representative protocols used in communications layers
- Demonstrate knowledge of data error detection, methods of protection, effects of noise on data, data test instrumentation, network traffic control and management
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills of systematic network design process and steps.
