Sending in Your Work
Once you have completed your assessment there are a number of ways in which you can submit your work.
Copying work submitted
It is important that you keep a copy of your work in the event it does not reach us. You should retain your marked work for six months after you have completed the course.
Sending in by post
When you enrol you will receive an Assessment Return Sheet for any piece of work that is to be returned to the Open Polytechnic. Before you return your work to us:
- Check the details on the Assessment Return Sheet is correct, make any changes and attach it to the front of your completed work.
- Enclose your completed work in the freepost, self-addressed return envelope provided.
Make sure you keep a copy of your written work in case it gets lost in the mail.
If you have any queries regarding this process, please contact a Customer Services Representative on 0508 650 200.
Electronic submission
Electronic submission of assessments is done through the Online Campus. Details on how to access the Online Campus are provided with your course information. The Online Campus provides you with electronic acknowledgement of receipt and ensures your work is logged in and tracked through our system.
To ensure that your work is correctly logged and tracked, please do not email assessments directly to your lecturer or course tutor.
Unless your course has specific other requirements, we strongly recommend that you submit your assessments in Microsoft Word format, as the Polytechnic uses Microsoft software. Contact your lecturer or course tutor if you are unsure of which format to use.
Note: Electronic submission of assignments is not available for all courses. Contact the lecturer/tutor for the course in question for details.
Faxing your work
Although you can fax work to your lecturer or tutor, you should treat this option as the exception rather than the rule. Please ensure you also include a copy of the correct barcode label with the work you are faxing. We need this so that we can electronically record the receipt of your faxed work. You should still mail the original work, with a cover sheet, as soon as possible after sending the fax. Mark your original work 'faxed previously' and record the date it was faxed to us. The Open Polytechnic fax number is +64 4 913-5308. Contact your lecturer/tutor for departmental fax numbers.
