First Financial Services Courses Open

Open Polytechnic is pleased to announce enrolment is now open for the first unit standards in the National Certificate in Financial Services (Financial Advice) (Level 5).

First unit standards available

Courses available are:

US25642 Demonstrate understanding of relationships between economic environments, financial markets and their participants.
US25643 Demonstrate understanding of the stages of financial advice and the products used by financial advisers.

These unit standards are two of the three you need for Standard Set A (Core Knowledge).

Open Polytechnic is the only distance learning provider with national accreditation for the new financial services qualification. There are no workshops or classes to attend which means you can study when it suits you. As distance learning experts we can help you fit study around your life.

Enrolment

Enrolment in these unit standards is not available through our online process. To enrol please print out and complete the Financial Services enrolment form and enrolment guide and return them to Open Polytechnic, Private Bag 31914, Lower Hutt 5040, along with your payment.
If you choose to study the course material and then do the assessments you will have 32 weeks from the date your enrolment is confirmed to complete your course. If you want to do the assessment only option you will have 13 weeks from the date your enrolment is confirmed.

Fees and costs

Each unit standard will cost $182 for learning materials and assessment. If you want to do the assessment only the cost is $125 per unit standard. In either case you will also need to pay an annual, non-refundable, $50 administration fee. All prices include GST. We estimate the total cost of the certificate will be in the region of $1995.00 and is subject to change.

Next courses

We understand it will be difficult for you to plan your study year as you don’t yet have all the information you need.

However, the December date for registration is fast approaching so to help you get started as quickly as possible we’re making individual courses available as soon as they are ready so you can be qualified on time.
