If you’ve graduated with the New Zealand Diploma in Business, Open Polytechnic would like to offer you the opportunity to fast track to a Bachelor of Business through our Advanced Standing Pathway programme.

If you have not completed the following courses in your New Zealand Diploma in Business you can still apply for our Pathway programme. All you need to do is complete the corresponding Bachelor of Business course shown in the table below. If you need assistance, please give us a call, we’re here to help.

What you’ll need to do

 To complete a Bachelor of Business under the Advanced Standing Pathway programme you will need to choose a major and complete the following courses listed under the major you select.

 

Accounting Major (7 courses):

71203  Business Ethics

71204  Accounting Information Systems

71245  Organisational Behaviour

71301  Advanced Financial Accounting

Plus three of:

71302  Advanced Management Accounting

71303 Corporate Finance

71305  Auditing

71306  Taxation

If you have not completed 101/501 Accounting Practices, 201/601 Financial Accounting and 202/602 Management Accounting under NZ Diploma in Business you need to complete the relevant Bachelor of Business course.

If you would like to complete the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) requirements, you must complete an additional level 7 course (not already chosen as an elective in the Bachelor of Business) and 71210 Corporate & Finance Law.
